Fast Brite is one of those products that is decent to use, as long as you know how you are planning on using it. When it comes to oxidation, dirt, and grime on your headlight lenses, Fast Brite does a great job in getting all that yellow junk off of the vehicle without having to add any additional tools, such as sandpaper or a buffer. It really is a simple way to improve the illumination of your headlights by up to 5x their current amount! So what is there to like about Fast Brite, and what are some things that you need to be aware of when using this product?
What Do I Like About Fast Brite?
What do I particularly like about Fast Brite? Three main things:
- Anyone can use it immediately upon purchase without any special training;
- It takes only a few minutes to get a job done; and
- It is extremely affordable.
I started fixing my own cars because I just didn’t want to spend up to double the amount of a retail purchase for a part + have to spend a ridiculously high amount on labor back when I had my first car. So I went out, bought the repair manuals that take you step by step through a repair, and have fixed my own cars and trucks ever since. You don’t need that with Fast Brite… you just need to remember which side of the sponge you are supposed to use first.
Even a tough job really only takes about 10 minutes to complete, and easy ones without much buildup can be completed in as little as 30 seconds if you want to be speedy about it. You just scrub it on, polish the lens, and then put the sealant on top of your newly cleaned headlight lens. Literally anyone can use a Fast Brite Lens Restoration Kit successfully.
There’s also the affordability. If you take advantage of this online offer today, you can get two bottles for the price of one + P&H. That’s a crazy good deal! Considering the fact that the average cost of a headlight lens replacement is between $100 - $500 and a good sanding kit that requires you to have a few extra mechanical skills will cost above $50, you’re just plain saving money and being able to effectively make a maintenance repair on your own vehicle!

Though Fast Brite is a pretty great product considering all it is able to do for the price that it is, there are some negatives about it that have to be carefully managed in order to have a successful experience with it:
- Using too much Fast Brite will cause your headlight lens to cloud over once again;
- Though Fast Brite is supposed to cut through grime and dirt, the product actually works better if you wash your lenses with warm, soapy water before beginning the application; and
- It’s not as long lasting a product as perhaps a more permanent solution could be.
My first experience with Fast Brite wasn’t a very successful one because I forgot the rule of “less is more.” It is better to add a little Fast Brite to the sponge and then add more as needed because you can always add a little more… if you have too much, you’ll get a cloudy headlight lens every single time.
I also discovered that Fast Brite tends to get off much more oxidation when the headlight lens has been thoroughly cleaned. A lot of people in videos will show you a dirty sponge as evidence that Fast Brite gets the dirt and grime off, but that’s not the problem for most people. It’s the yellow oxidation. If you take five minutes to clean your headlight lenses first with warm, soapy water, you’ll find much greater success in this product.
And though some people have reported that Fast Brite has worked as long as a year, I can’t say that I’ve had that much success. We can generally get by four, maybe up to six months on an application of the product… but I suspect that’s a symptom more of our climate rather than the usefulness of the product.
Is Fast Brite Worth the Cost?
Absolutely. It’s an easy and effective method of getting rid of the oxidation on your vehicle’s headlight lenses that can help you see better at night… or have driver’s be able to see you even better during the day time if your headlights are on automatically like mine are. And considering the deal that you can get today, it is definitely to your advantage to pick up some Fast Brite right away so that you don’t have to worry about your headlights while you’re driving.
